Enemy Feminisms: An Evening with Sophie Lewis

In a time of rising fascism, ceaseless attacks on reproductive justice, and violent transphobia, we need to reckon with what Western feminism has wrought if we have any hope of building the feminist world we need.

Sophie Lewis is a writer. Her books, Full Surrogacy Now: Feminism Against Family, and Abolish the Family: A Manifesto for Care and Liberation, have been translated into nine languages.

Chaired by Dr Nat Raha, poet and activist-scholar, whose books of poetry include apparitions (nines) (2024) and of sirens, body & faultlines (2018). Nat has been involved in LGBTQ+ collective organising in Edinburgh, London and beyond for over a decade.

The venue is The Leith Hall, one of the rooms at Nicolson Square Venues (just around the corner from Lighthouse bookshop).
