Seed Ball Making Workshop

Sunday 28 April @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Seed balls with plants starting to grow

Join the South East Edinburgh Greens for our first ever seed ball workshop!

We will create lots of seed balls together which will be mixtures of native flower seed and compost added together for best results. While preparing them, we will discuss interesting facts about Scottish wildflowers, ranging from effects on urban biodiversity to their place in Scottish folklore. We will also talk about the best places to spread the seeds.

This is an exciting opportunity to help improve wildlife in our nature depleted urban environment. After the seed balls have been spread, we will take photos of the different stages of the process to track the development of the new wildflower patches!

Find out more about seed balls (bombs) here >

The workshop will take place on 28th April from 11am to 1pm in Nelson Hall, 5 Spittalfield Crescent, EH8 9QZ.

Please sign up to this event via Eventbrite here to help us know how much equipment to buy. The tickets are free!

Do you have any spare seeds you would like to donate to this project? Let us know in advance if you can’t make it, or bring them on the day!
